Learner Driving................. Learner Drivers.................. Learner Driving

We teach in accordance with the Driving Standards Agency's syllabus - 'Safe Driving for life', which includes the recently introduced 'Show me, tell me'questions, and 'eco-safe' driving which is to be included in the driving test next year.

Fully comprehensive tuition is given for the Theory and Hazard Perception Tests.

Driving Licence
Before you can start your driving lessons, you will need a provisional driving licence (application forms D1 and D750 available from the Post Office).

Eyesight
You must be able to read a standard vehicle number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres (with glasses if normally worn).

Health
You should let your instructor know of any medical condition, or if you are taking any medication which may affect your ability to drive

Lessons
Lessons are conducted on a 'one to one' basis - there is no car sharing - you learn at your own pace in your own time. A lesson is normally of 1 hours duration, but may be 1.5 or 2 hours if required.

Your progress will be monitored and feedback given at the end of each lesson - your instructor will advise you when you are ready to apply for your test.

We offer a discounted rate for a block-booking of 10 hours.

The Driving Test
You must have passed the Theory and Hazard Perception Tests before you are permitted to apply for the Driving Test.

The test is in two parts: the eye sight test and practical driving test

Eye Sight Test : you must be able to read a standard vehicle registration number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres, with glasses if you normally wear them.

Practical Driving : The practical driving test is a 42 minute test during which you must demonstrate to the examiner your ability to handle a car competently, with due consideration for other road users.

Prior to driving, you will be asked two 'show me, tell me' questions relating to basic vehicle safety maintenance, which may involve opening the bonnet

We will teach you the skills required, not only to pass your driving test, but to drive safely for life, in accordance with the Driving Standards Agency syllabus.

The current cost of a driving test is £48.50 for week days, £58.00 for Saturdays.
