Newly qualified drivers are very vulnerable due to their lack of experience. Research has shown that they are most likely to have an accident within their first 2 years of driving than at any other time in their driving career.

Pass Plus is a scheme for newly qualified drivers, to further develop driving skills and experience. It comprises six units:

• Town Driving
• All Weather Driving
• Rural Driving
• Night Driving
• Dual Carriageway Driving
• Motorway Driving

You can take part in this scheme with a Pass Plus Registered instructor. There is no test to take, but by the end of the course your instructor must be satisfied that your hazard perception skills have improved to a sufficient standard.

Your progress is monitored and recorded session by session and feedback on progress is given. You must complete at least one hour on each of the six units. On completion of the course you will receive a Pass Plus certificate from the Driving Standards Agency entitling you to receive a discount from one of the insurance companies taking part in the scheme.
